Raising Healthy Food. Restoring the land. Sharing the journey.
Our Roots

Open Gate Ranch was built on an unlikely partnership—Spencer grew up farming & ranching, while Laura found her way to agriculture later in life. We’re combining generations of practical experience with curiosity, fresh perspectives, and a shared commitment to caring for the land.
Â
Located near Last Mountain Lake in central Saskatchewan, we're raising cattle, goats, and chickens using regenerative practices that work with nature to improve soil health, support animal welfare, and produce nutritious food for our community. We don't pretend to have all the answers, but we believe good farming means continuous learning and leaving the land better than we found it.
Â
We also believe people deserve to know where their food comes from. That's why we're committed to sharing our successes and our lessons. Agriculture isn't perfect, and if we can share what is working for us, maybe we can help reconnect people with the land and the people who produce their food.
Â
Whether you're here for locally raised food, to learn more about regenerative agriculture, or simply to follow along on our journey, we're grateful you've found your way through our gate.
